Mindfulness is proving to be an effective business tool for building connection, engagement and resilient thinking in the face of challenges, change and uncertainty.

Research suggests that mindfulness-based interventions may be helpful with issues like stress, anxiety, depression and unhealthy substance use, which can all be present in our workplaces. Team-based mindfulness sessions offer the additional benefits of team connectedness and cohesiveness through shared experience, either together in the office or virtually, working from home.

Enmasse offers a selection of team and individual-targeted mindfulness programs focused on applying the technique across a variety of everyday experiences. Everyday Mindfulness is workplace training with a difference – it incorporates the immersive, experiential power of expert-guided mindfulness exercises that can be repeated in any setting.

Participants have the opportunity to learn in a team environment before taking their practice on the road through the option of habit-forming mindfulness tracks (podcasts).

Everyday Mindfulness suite of programs

Introduction to everyday mindfulness

This session will teach you all about what mindfulness is, its benefits as well as techniques for observing your thoughts, feelings and bodily sensations. It includes an immersive, calming 20 minute mindfulness meditation as well as a range of shorter, practical mindfulness experiences and tips for you to take back into your day.

Stress can be a positive, motivating factor in our lives and when left unchecked, it can become a problem. This session includes an overview of how mindfulness can help to calm our stress responses and provides a mindfulness mediation experience that is designed to help calm the nerves and induce a calming relaxation response. Note: this session assumes participants have some basic mindfulness awareness and experience.

Everyday mindfulness: mindful movement

This session provides a range of suggested movements that you can make while standing or sitting down that help to engage the senses. You will be provided with guidance on how to observe, without judgment, the feelings in your joints, muscles and on your skin while you undertake a range of gentle guided movements.

Cooking is a process that provides numerous opportunities to engage our senses. This mindfulness session will provide you with a range of activities that will enable you to enjoy the cooking process, from food preparation through to presentation, as a thoroughly sensory experience.

This session will provide you with a step-by-step, guided pathway to engaging all of your senses when eating food. It encourages you to slow down, to truly take notice of the many different colours, aromas, textures, tastes, and bodily responses to eating your chosen food and to use this life sustaining process as a relaxing opportunity to give your mind a rest.

This gentle mindfulness session will provide you with a practical set of tools for practising mindful breathing. Through a guided process, you will have an opportunity to turn your attention to a range of peaceful observations while you go through a very centring guided breathing experience.

Mindfulness can be very helpful for alleviating a number of the stressors that can interrupt our capacity to enjoy healthy sleep or a deep rest. This peaceful mindfulness session provides a rest-inducing series of guided steps for bringing your mind and body into deep connection while you are lying down in bed, on a sofa or sitting in a comfortable position.

By turning your attention to your bodily sensations, you can give your mind the opportunity to replenish and take a break from ruminating thoughts and other sources of anxiety or stress. This guided mindfulness session will provide you with an opportunity to practice mindfulness through a non-judgmental tour of your senses and to become deeply connected with your body and be present in the moment.

When we are caught up in our thoughts, we often neglect to notice the sounds around us and can even switch off when engaging in conversations with other people. This session will provide you with a step by step process for engaging in the present moment through listening.

When we experience high levels of stress and tiredness, it can be difficult to concentrate, stay focused and think logically. This session will provide you with some practical tolls, including through a relaxing mindfulness meditation, to help alleviate issues with focus and attention, enable you to become more present for your tasks at hand while maintaining a sense of calm.

Our experiences with gratitude and optimism can have a significant impact on our emotional wellbeing and can help improve our overall moods. This practical session will provide you with a summary of the impacts of gratitude and optimism on our wellbeing and will guide you through a positive mood building meditation session.

Putting your own wellbeing last on your list of priorities can result in a depletion of your energy levels as well as your physical and mental health overall. This session helps us to explore what self-compassion means in practice and provides a self-nourishing meditation experience. You will leave the session with your own plan to take back some practical tools for incorporating self-compassion into your daily life.

For most of us, our capacity to listen actively, suspend some of our urges to talk instead of listen and to demonstrate empathy is a work in progress. Practising mindfulness in your daily communication to work and at home can help improve our relationship experiences, enable other people to feel heard and reduce the interpersonal tensions that sometimes pop up when the quality of our communication becomes one-sided or obstructed by stress. This practical session will provide you with some tools to engage in active listening and through a relaxing mindfulness mediation, set you up to make some commitments towards practising mindfulness in your everyday conversations.
